Tests of string transport in the EcoTechnoPark have shown that even a smooth gapless seam causes a slight tapping of the wheels, which can lead to a change in the strength of steel on some segments of the path. For urban transport at a speed of up to 150 km/h, this is acceptable: the noise level and smooth running remain comfortable for passengers. However, for high-speed transport, this can cause problems.

To ensure that the future high-speed SkyWay transport will be able to not only accelerate to 500 km/h, but also shall remain comfortable for the passengers, the engineers managed to improve the rolling track of the wheels. The technical solutions of the SkyWay design organization helped to eliminate transverse welds almost along the entire length of the rolling surface of the test section of the high-speed complex. This allows for more reliable operation of the anti-drift system, and the experimental coating of the track will help to make the structure even more durable.

Testing of the «mule» of the high-speed unibus on the updated track is scheduled to start soon. Last week the vehicle was delivered to the SkyWay EcoTechnoPark afore, in order for the guests of the forthcoming EcoFest 2019, that takes place already on the 17th of August, to witness its testing.

We remind you of the fact that the high-speed transport system was the first one to be constructed at the EcoTechnoPark since the date of its establishing. It was assumed that the route will be laid through the Belarusian forests and swamps, stretching 20 km in length. This distance is necessary for acceleration, demonstration of a speed of 500 km/h and safe braking. But in the end, the developers of string transport were refused the land and the creation of a high-speed SkyWay vehicle was transferred to the UAE, where the country’s leadership has already allocated the necessary lots.

The high-speed unibus tests on the updated track structure, which will begin shortly, are not intended to demonstrate a speed of 500 km/h. It is impossible at such a short distance. However, the tests will allow to check many elements of the structure. The module itself was ready a year ago and was first presented to the world at the largest international forum InnoTrans 2018.

Now its «mule» – an exact, outwardly practically indistinguishable copy, technically identical, but devoid of not affecting the speed, having very expensive trim elements and other details that do not need to be tested.
